About the Role:
We are hiring an experienced Estimator on behalf of our direct client, a leading firm in the heavy civil construction industry based in Chagrin Falls, OH. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity for a driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced and detail-oriented environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting preconstruction operations through precise estimating, collaboration with vendors and subcontractors, and coordination with project management teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Analyze blueprints, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate cost estimates.

Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment.

Source and evaluate bids and quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.

Maintain and build strong relationships with vendors to stay updated on pricing and industry practices.

Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to resolve estimating-related queries.

Utilize estimating software (e.g., HCSS Heavy Bid preferred) along with traditional methods to prepare estimates.

Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with high attention to detail.

Assist in other duties and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).

Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction or highway infrastructure.

Proficient in blueprint reading and detailed takeoff processes.

Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Familiarity with estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid.
