Job Description :

The ideal Litigation Paralegal candidate will be responsible for handling all stages of personal injury cases (civil litigation). This candidate should feel comfortable working closely with attorneys and other Litigation Paralegals in a team environment but should also be able to independently draft pleadings; draft and respond to discovery requests; manage all aspects of written discovery; collect and review medical treatment records and bills; and work directly with clients, insurance claims representatives, and opposing counsel. The ideal candidate should be smart, thorough, detail-oriented, and highly organized because the position involves coordinating all phases of litigated cases, from intake through settlement or trial.

Responsibilities :

  • Drafting legal correspondence to and communicating with clients and opposing counsel

  • Drafting pleadings and discovery

  • Responding to written discovery requests

  • Case management

  • Collecting, reviewing, summarizing medical records and bills

  • Collecting, reviewing, summarizing employment, financial and tax records

  • Assisting in development of trial strategy

  • Management and coordination of all phases of litigated case files

Qualifications :

  • 1+ years of litigation paralegal experience

  • Paralegal certificate or degree

  • Experience working in personal injury field is required, either at plaintiff's firm or defense firm

Skills and Abilities :

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask

  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate work, managing deadlines

  • Ability to maintain confidential information

  • Willingness to collaborate with co-workers and work in a team environment
