Jet Financial Corp., owner of an insurance company and two insurance agencies in the surety and fidelity bond space, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to support its President/General Counsel with legal, claims, corporate governance and human resources matters. The ideal candidate will have some experience in insurance law, regulatory compliance, employment law and corporate governance, with a strong understanding of legal processes and documentation. This role involves working closely with the President/General Counsel, claims adjusters, and business units to provide critical legal and regulatory support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation, review, organization and submission of regulatory filings, including financial statements, producer licensing, secretary of state annual reports, insurance company licensing applications and renewals, etc.
  • Draft routine regulatory and legal correspondence, internal memos and board minutes.
  • Collaborate with outside counsel and internal departments as needed.
  • Stay current with changes in insurance law and industry regulations.
  • Perform employee background checks and ensure HR folders have complete documentation.
  • Coordinate payment of outside counsel invoices.
  • Track claims litigation.
  • Assist with the review of company policies and procedures and coordinate employee training.
  • Collaborate on special projects and corporate initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of paralegal experience, preferably in an insurance or corporate legal environment.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Google Workspace, Slack and Adobe.
  • Notary license or willingness to obtain one.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with regulatory filings and insurance department correspondence.
  • Familiarity with human resources, corporate governance and compliance support.
  • Exposure to contract review and litigation file management.
