Responsibilities of an Injection Molding Process Technician
- Processes troubleshooting of various types of thermoplastic injection molds, machines, and resins to ensure efficient production of quality products.
- Troubleshoots molding process issues (flash, short-shots, sinks, splay, etc.) for maximum efficiency and minimum scrap levels.
- Changes settings on process controllers to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycle times to ensure process optimization according to customer and part specifications.
- Troubleshoots mold and machine problems, develop root cause and provide a permanent corrective action to management.
- Helps perform start up and shut down procedures.
- Runs a press as a Mold Operator when required.
- Accurately completes production and scrap reports using IQMS Software.
- Maintains a clean and orderly workstation.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager.
- Stands, walks and uses hands for 8 to 12 hours per day; there is no sitting in this position.
Candidate Requirements:
- Ability to handle up to 50-pounds.
- Excellent decision-making skills to ensure presses are running efficiently to meet production demands.
- Must be effective and efficient while performing all tasks to ensure production needs are met.
- Possess a flexible mindset as jobs and tasks change quickly.
- Detail oriented.
- Knowledge and application of injection molding principles with strong mechanical aptitude.
- 3-5 Years of Plastics experience.
