Quality Quartz Engineering is now hiring a Programmer. Quality Quartz Engineering is one of the largest companies in the United States that specializes in the design and manufacture of solid quartz products for the Semiconductor, Solar, Fiber Optic, and Lighting Industries.
Summary
The Programmer is primarily responsible for creating and testing new CNC programs, while contributing to team efforts for operating in a safe environment for the timely delivery of quality parts by maximizing first run production of parts to Router requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops manufacturing drawings from customer drawings
- Determines sequence of operations by studying the router, blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
- Prepares CNC programs and when time allows run 1st parts on the CNC machine.
- Assists other CNC team members with problems on the machines.
- Continually looks for better ways to machine and fixture parts.
- Maintains specifications by observing operations, detecting defects, inspecting parts, and adjusting controls.
- Resolves production problems by adjusting controls and process materials to meet specifications. Notifies supervisor for additional resources when necessary.
- Ensures proper operation of equipment and alerting supervisor of necessity of for repairs.
- Meets daily production scheduled requirements.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Provide machine cycle time used to provide quotes for new parts.
- Contributes to continuous improvement process.
- Provide backup for CMM programming.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Knowledge: A High School Diploma or GED is required for this position, as well as 1 to 3 years of experience in Manufacturing.
Abilities: Manufacturing Quality, Controls and Instrumentation, CNC Programming, Mechanical Inspection Tools.
Skills: Decision Making, Problem Solving, Job Knowledge, experience with OSHA compliance, basic reading, and math skills (minimum of 12th grade level). Prefer experience in using Edge Cam, Auto Cad, and Inventor software and familiar with writing Macro programs.
